Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has warned that any form of criminality from any quarter would be treated as an act of sabotage.

Abiodun said his administration would not condone any act of indiscipline and criminality capable of truncating the peace being enjoyed by the state’s residents.

The governor stated this while hosting a reception for members of the Ogun State League of Imams and Alfas led by the Chief Imam of Egbaland, Sheikh Saadalah Bamgbola, to commemorate the Eid-el-Fitri celebration at the Presidential Lodge, Abeokuta.

Abiodun claimed that the state government had invested heavily in the security architecture towards providing adequate security for investors.

He urged parents and guardians to train their children and wards on the need to stay away from kidnapping, cultism and ritual killing, insisting anyone caught in the act would be dealt with according to the dictates of the law by his administration.

Abiodun reassured that the current administration will always ensure that religious bodies in the state are given equal treatment, imploring the religious leaders to interface on behalf of the government by educating the youths about the dangers inherent in committing crimes.

The governor urged the residents to imbibe the spirit of tolerance to promote peaceful coexistence across the state.

He, however, disclosed that his administration would constitute the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board in due time.

“COVID-19 didn’t allow us to go on pilgrimage to the holy land, so we didn’t feel compelled to constitute a board that will not have anything to do, but be rest assured that we will constitute that board, and it will be a board that we will be proud of”, Abiodun submitted.
