The Southern Kaduna People’s Union (SOKAPU), Friday, in Kaduna described the killings and kidnapping for ransom in Kaduna as too numerous to mention.

In a statement by the president of the group, Mr. Jonathan Asake, said over 148 communities have been destroyed in Southern Kaduna, adding that Chikun, Kajuru local government areas are the worst hit, just as several destructions also existed in Kauru and Zangon Kataf LGAs.

According to him, more than 200,000 people are living as internally displaced persons, IDPs, just as most of them are staying in uncompleted buildings in dehumanizing conditions

He said many victims have been displaced out of their ancestral lands and some of the communities have been occupied by the attackers.

According to the statement, the Southern Kaduna has humanitarian crises as many have suffered untold hardship.

“A committee will be set up, comprising SOKAPU, CAN, JNI and other stakeholders to identify those who need help,” he added.
